Warmth

Having lived through
a winter,
silent and cold,
the sweetness of
summer  brought
life to my soul.

Fate had brought
us together
for one summer did it last,
his presence though
short-lived
brought a richness
to my heart.

He told  of his
adventures,
the mountains he had scaled
and I spoke of
sunsets which
never had I seen

He was my warmth
my gentle summer breeze,
he melted the frost
and brought
me peace.

I brought him laughter
a gladness
to his days,
a break from monotony
from the world ‘s chaotic ways

But we both had
our secrets
our lips were sealed tight
I lived in a world of darkness
and his life
had never taken flight
